Minority Business Highlight: Prestige Candle Co.

A new Black-owned luxury candle studio just opened on Indy’s southside.

Prestige Candle Co. is “more than a place to pour candles,” according to the website. Founded by firefighter and entrepreneur Grant Berry, the company officially opened its doors on Aug. 22 with a simple vision: to create an unforgettable experience.

Prestige Candle Co. was born from the belief that the best moments in life “are built through connection.” The business offers guests a space where creativity, fragrance and conversation come together naturally, according to the website.

“I have spent years responding to emergencies and helping people on their worst days,” Berry said in a statement. “Prestige Candle Co. is about celebrating the good days and giving people a premium experience they can take home and enjoy every time they light a candle. Indianapolis deserves this.”

At Prestige, guests don’t just buy a candle; they have the opportunity to create one. The studio features more than 60 signature and rotating fragrance options for guests to choose from or blend their own custom scent. Guests also get to pour their own handcrafted soy wax into a matte black holder before taking their one-of-a-kind creation home.

Candle making sessions are available Friday-Sunday with daytime and evening slots accommodating up to 24 guests. Prestige also offers private studio bookings for special events, bachelorette or birthday parties, corporate team building and more.

Prestige also has a retail boutique onsite where customers can purchase hand-poured signature candles, reed diffusers, car diffusers and premium candle accessories, according to the website.

“There is nothing like this on the south side of Indianapolis,” Berry added. “We built Prestige from the ground up to be a destination, a place where the experience is as beautiful as the product you take home.”
