Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ) Media has officially unveiled its annual Indiana 250 list, recognizing the state’s most impactful and visionary business and community leaders across key economic sectors. Among the distinguished honorees selected for the 2026 roster is Recorder Media Group President and CEO Robert Shegog, who is being recognized for his continued inclusion among the state’s top movers and shakers driving regional growth and civic progress.
The prestigious roster, compiled by executives, editors and newsroom staff from IBJ, Inside INdiana Business and The Indiana Lawyer, evaluates hundreds of nominations to identify individuals whose leadership shapes Indiana’s future.
“I am truly honored to be named to IBJ Media’s fifth annual Indiana 250, recognizing Indiana’s most influential business and community leaders helping shape the future of our state,” Shegog said. “This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the incredible work being done every day by the talented team at Recorder Media Group, our community partners, and the many organizations I have the privilege to serve alongside. Since taking the helm at Recorder Media Group in 2018, Shegog has overseen significant expansions across the organization’s multimedia platforms — including the Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper, Indiana Minority Business Magazine (IMBM) and The Minority Business Review (MBR). His strategic focus on digital growth, corporate partnerships, and investigative community journalism has garnered the newsroom more than 100 regional and national awards from prestigious industry bodies such as the Hoosier State Press Association and the National Newspaper Publishers Association.
Beyond his executive duties in media, Shegog’s military background as a U.S. Navy veteran and over two decades in public service continue to inform his civic advocacy. He actively serves on multiple local boards and initiatives advocating for marginalized communities and equitable economic opportunities across Central Indiana.
The 2026 Indiana 250 class features influential executives, innovators, and champions from public and private entities spanning technology, health care, financial services, education, and civic leadership.
