Minority Business Highlight: FyBro

Founded by Indianapolis native Aaron Russell, FyBro is a new premium men’s grooming system.

The Fybro is a stick-on hairline stencil designed to give men fresh hairlines in between haircuts. The first of its kind, FyBro is not meant to replace going to the barber, just allow men to achieve a fresh line in between cuts, Russell said.

“There are so many celebrities and athletes and TV personalities who actually will fly their barbers in just to get a hair line up,” Russell said. “We’re not trying to get rid of barbers. … We love the barbers, but it is a way to save money.”

Russell first got the idea for the hairline stencil in the spring of 2022 after failing to find anything similar on the market. Once he had a design, Russell applied for the Impact Indiana PitchFeast competition in 2023 and ended up winning a $10,000 grant to put toward his business.

After designing several prototypes and locking down a manufacturer, the FyBro was finally ready in the winter of 2023. However, it wasn’t until early 2025 that the product started to really take off — especially on social media, Russell said.

FyBro doesn’t just offer hairline stencils; customers can choose from a variety of box kits, which include the FyBro-branded spray-on hairline fibers, holding spray and an applicator pump in addition to beard line and side stencils.
